Chilli Pan Mee, USJ 9 Subang Jaya

24 Nov

Last Saturday, I had this craving for “pan mee” (translation is flat flour noodle) usually prepared in soup or dry mixed with thick soy sauce and nowadays, even with hot chilli in it. Yummy.. The texture of the flat flour noodle, thickness of the noodle is medium size, it has the bouncy feeling when chewed, is what I like about them. The aste, the excitement of the spicy-ness and combination is simply tantalizing.

For the place I patronized, they have already a couple of outlets. The outlet that I visited is as follow:

Hearty, White Radish Soup for hot weather

14 Oct

Last weekend, I went to the nearby night market. Due to the recent, humid and dry weather, I had thought of preparing something cooling and nutritious. So I came across a stall that sold beautiful fresh white radish and I was told, that they were  homegrown.

Hence , today, I’d made a lovely simple hearty White Radish Soup for dinner.

Let me share with you, my very own Winnie’s Hearty White Radish Soup recipe:

1 White Radish, cut in pieces
12 Red dates, remove seeds
3 Dry scallops
Few pieces Pork bone/Lean Meat (Your preference),
1 Tbsp White peppercorns, crushed
1/2 tsp Salt

1. Scald pork briefly in boiling water. Remove and drain.
2. Place all ingredients in a pot with 3-4 bowls of water. Boil in, once it’s boiled and change it to low fire and boil for 1-2 hours.
3. Add some salt before serving.

Enjoy and feel free to try it, and leave me some comment.

Note: Depending how many person is drinking the soup. If 2 persons, the above mentioned is 2 bowls of soup per person.
